Title:
Requests From The Poor And From The Rich
Content:
Musa A.S had so many followers with long lives. Some are poor, and some are rich. One time, a poor man came to Musa A.S. He was so poor that his clothes were frayed, and dirty. The poor said to Musa A.S, "Dear prophet of Allah, please convey my request to Allah S.W.T so that Allah would make me a rich man." Musa A.S smiled and said to the man, "My brother, you have to be grateful to Allah S.W.T." The poor man was confused and upset, "How can I be grateful, as I seldom eat and this is my only clothes I have."
The poor man went home without getting anything. Not long, a rich man came with clean clothing. He asked Musa A.S, "Dear Prophet of Allah, please convey my request to Allah, so He would turn me to a poor man. My wealth is bothering me."
Prophet Musa smiled and said, "My brother, don't you be grateful to Allah S.W.T".
"Dear prophet of Allah, how can I not be grateful. Allah provided me with eyes to see things, ears to listen, hands with which I can work, and legs to walk. How can I not be grateful?" The rich man went home. He became even richer, for Allah gave him more wealth because he was always grateful (syukur). On the other hand, the poor man became poorer, as he was never grateful. Allah took away all the enjoyments that the poor man was left with nothing, not even the clothes for him to wear. All this happened because he did not want to be grateful to Allah S.W.T.
With this, let us be grateful for what we have as He gave us lots of things that we should appreciate in our life. If saying thank you to one another is an honorable thing to do, saying thank you to our creator wouldn't be that tough right? :)
